Dr. Ramona Ghasemi, DDS
Dr. Ramona grew up in Toronto and Richmond Hill, ON, before moving to Hungary and obtaining her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree. Upon her return to Canada, she continued her studies at the University of Toronto, where she received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS). She worked in Guelph, Fergus, and Cambridge before purchasing Ayr Dental in 2018.
An active member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, and the Ontario Dental Association, Dr. Ramona has continued to advance and upgrade her skills with courses in implantology, restorations, and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Ramona enjoys all areas of dentistry, from preventative treatment to restorations, root canals, crowns and bridges. Her goal is to always provide compassionate comprehensive care to patients and she has a particular interest in working with children and patients who suffer from dental anxieties and phobias.
In her down time, Dr. Ramona makes an effort to cultivate her love of life. She finds joy in exercise classes, cooking, hiking, biking and indulging in her hobby of travelling and learning about different lands, peoples, and cultures.
Dr. Kerry D’Costa, BASc, DDS, MSc (Periodontology), FRCD(C)
Dr. D’Costa graduated with and Honours BA in Applied Science Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo before embarking on a career in dental medicine. He attended the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University, and the Academisch Centrum Tandheelkunde in Amsterdam, and obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and Master of Science (MSc) degree in Periodontology from the University of Toronto.
A board-certified dental specialist in periodontics and a licensed periodontist with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan, Dr. D’Costa is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr. D’Costa has extensive surgical experience in periodontal flap surgery, soft tissue grafting (gum grafting), bone grafting, implant surgery, and full-mouth reconstruction. He is also formally trained in IV moderate conscious sedation and the operation and interpretation of cone beam CT images.
As a researcher, Dr. D’Costa’s work has centered on the systemic effects of periodontal disease, specifically focused on the association between periodontitis and cardiovascular disease. He has published in this field and presented his research at dental conferences.
